KAMIKAZE TIME TRAVEL

Director:Naomi Ito

A naked young man washes ashore on the coast of Okinawa. Mr and Mrs Miyazato welcome him home, name him Umi and care for him, saying he is from the sea. Uumi loses his memory and stays at home in place of their son 'Kaito', who committed suicide. One summer day, Masaya Nakahara, a friend of Kaito's who died at university in Tokyo, comes to offer incense. Eventually, Umi remembers that he is a past Kamikaze pilot [Kotaro Sakamoto] and decides to go to Tokyo. In Tokyo, Masaya takes Kotaro home and introduces him to his mother. He then looks at his grandfather's belongings and finds a postcard from Junichi Kitajima. Kitajima was a Kamikaze pilot like Kotaro <Umi>. The next day, Masaya takes Kotaro to the broadcasting station where his brother is. There he hears about the Great East Japan Earthquake and is moved. He hears a speech by a political organisation on the street and discovers a new mission. Later, he meets Kitajima again and talks about the war. Kotaro <Umi> laughs with satisfaction and hugs Masaya, saying "Take care of Japan". He then heads for Yasukuni Shrine, where he disappears along with the members of the Hiryu Koubutai. Finally, at the seaside, Mr and Mrs Miyazato stare out at the sea and mutter, "Uumi has become Wadatsumi". A young man walks to the seaside, is it Kotaro or his son Kaito...

KURASHIKI story Hachiman
Director  Seiko Mitushiro

Kurashiki Monogatari Hachiman Synopsis.
This story is set in 1892, more than 100 years ago.
Set in the beautiful city of Kurashiki, where the rice and cotton industries were just beginning to develop, this historical film tells the story of one woman, Fujino, aka "Hachiman-chan" (Kurashiki dialect for a cheerful tomboy), who overcomes hardships to grow up.
Fujino was born the daughter of a rice merchant in Kurashiki, and a photograph taken with Naruhiko, whom she met at a shrine when she was 3 years old, will be a treasure for the rest of her life.
She met Itsuko, the daughter of a poor peasant farmer, in the first grade of elementary school, and although their circumstances were different, they influenced each other and became best friends for life.
As the city of Kurashiki undergoes major transformation, Fujino is watched over and supported by real people from the Meiji era, including Magosaburo Ohara, Torajiro Kojima, Juji Ishii, Yumeji Takehisa, and the people of her hometown Kurashiki.
This is a historical moving love story interwoven with the real people who built the foundation of Kurashiki and the fictional Hachiman-chan and other characters.

Video and Theater
The LAND OF THE RISING GOD
It was in 1582 AD. The most famous story in Japan is that a samurai named Akechi Mitsuhide rebelled and attacked his master, Oda Nobunaga. In Japan, this is called the Honnoji Incident. Around this time, Christianity was first introduced to Japan, and many people were influenced by it. Oda Nobunaga worked hard to end the Sengoku period and unify Japan. He was greatly influenced by Christianity, and is described as the first Japanese person to make many gifts to the Vatican. This story of Oda Nobunaga's death has a strange similarity with the story of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. One is that Nobunaga's body disappeared after his death. The other is the presence of the traitor Mitsuhide Akechi, who was his confidant. And as a samurai who brought an end to the Sengoku era, he still influences many Japanese people. It is reminiscent of the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who was crucified on Golgotha, bearing the burden of humanity's sins. The Land of the Rising God, a popular stage production in Japan, tells the story of Nobunaga, who is strongly influenced by Christianity and brings peace to Japan through his own death. It depicts that the presence of a traitor was also necessary. And the samurai spirit that flows there is depicted as nothing but self-sacrifice.
Blooming Sisters
Follows two women with very different personalities but similar sisters as they support each other and face difficulties and challenges in life.
The Girl Who Wished A Change
In a world where the echoes of urgent pleas for change seem to fall on deaf ears, "The Girl Who Wished a Change" emerges as a beacon of hope—a cinematic masterpiece that dares to confront the harsh realities of our time with unflinching honesty and unwavering compassion. At its heart, this film is a poignant tale of one girl's unwavering belief in the power of collective action—a belief born from the depths of her soul, fueled by a burning desire to make a difference in a world plagued by injustice and indifference. Through her eyes, we witness the struggles of marginalized communities, the devastation wrought by environmental degradation, and the profound impact of systemic inequality on the lives of millions. But amidst the darkness, there shines a glimmer of hope—a flickering flame of resilience and resolve that refuses to be extinguished. As our protagonist embarks on her journey of self-discovery and activism, she rallies others to join her cause, igniting a movement that reverberates far beyond the confines of the screen.
