A naked young man washes ashore on the coast of Okinawa. Mr and Mrs Miyazato welcome him home, name him Umi and care for him, saying he is from the sea. Uumi loses his memory and stays at home in place of their son 'Kaito', who committed suicide. One summer day, Masaya Nakahara, a friend of Kaito's who died at university in Tokyo, comes to offer incense. Eventually, Umi remembers that he is a past Kamikaze pilot [Kotaro Sakamoto] and decides to go to Tokyo. In Tokyo, Masaya takes Kotaro home and introduces him to his mother. He then looks at his grandfather's belongings and finds a postcard from Junichi Kitajima. Kitajima was a Kamikaze pilot like Kotaro <Umi>. The next day, Masaya takes Kotaro to the broadcasting station where his brother is. There he hears about the Great East Japan Earthquake and is moved. He hears a speech by a political organisation on the street and discovers a new mission. Later, he meets Kitajima again and talks about the war. Kotaro <Umi> laughs with satisfaction and hugs Masaya, saying "Take care of Japan". He then heads for Yasukuni Shrine, where he disappears along with the members of the Hiryu Koubutai. Finally, at the seaside, Mr and Mrs Miyazato stare out at the sea and mutter, "Uumi has become Wadatsumi". A young man walks to the seaside, is it Kotaro or his son Kaito...

He calls on Sachi to participate in the Noto Peninsula Earthquake Charity Peace Rally that Hayato is planning. Dr. Simon Rubin first came to prominence in 1985 with his best-selling book, The Energy Theory of Love and Archaeology. His research on how concentrically built cityscapes were subjected to cosmic rays and harnessed buoyancy, electricity, and other forces was expected to stop wars over resources as well. In 1986, however, Professor Simon died mysteriously. Shortly before his death, he left behind a floppy disk containing his research data.
The floppy disk was never found, with the words "Clean Your Mouth" written on the cover.
Torena Daisuke, a contemporary researcher who respected Dr. Simon, received a phone call one day from the Simon Foundation. He said he had something to give her.
